When you think sports Canada then baseball has got to be near the top of the list. This is one of the summer sports that are high on the list for both athletes as well as fans.
What many find interesting is that the first baseball park to exist in Canada is still being played there today. This is the Labatt Park that is located in London, Ontario. The first game that was ever recorded as being played took place in Ontario in Beachville in 1838.
Canada does not have several major leagues and is comprised of one, which is the Toronto Blue Jays. It came about in 1977. There was also the Montreal Expos as a league, but they left Canada and went to the US. Where they were re-branded as the Washinton Nationals.

This league was very proud to be the first league outside of America to be the host of the World Series. This took place in 1992. What made it even better was the winning of that series, then going on to the next year to win it again.

Baseball is such a popular sport in Canada that it is also played a great deal at the amateur level. A lot of the schools, even at the public level, will form house leagues. It is also a game that is played by many families, with kids getting together to go out and enjoy the game, even with just a few participants. Many parks have baseball diamonds to accommodate those who want to enjoy the sport.
